Revision of E252-06(2013) Standard Test Method for Thickness of Foil, Thin Sheet, and Film by Mass Measurement
Rationale
This standard was recently up for review and was balloted as re-approval with editorial changes under WK75960 which passed. Prior ballot activity received several negatives and will be addressed under this new work item. There are three main areas of focus for this work item: (1)Form and Style A prior ballot, B07 (20-01) Item 009 WK71355, received a negative around form and style, specifically the significant and use section, and key words section, did not exist. This work item is to address these two sections. (2)Units Prior ballots, B07 (20-02) Item 003 WK72881 and B07 (20-03) Item 009 WK73805 had negatives around making changes to Table 1 and Table A2.1 and the units used throughout the standard. The intent of this ballot is to address the units, check for consistency with AA and consistency with the rounding rules (with caution on rounding and conversions between US customary and SI units). (3)Method This item is intended to address the test method portion of the standard and to make it consistent with that in practice.
