Revision of F2291-20 Standard Practice for Design of Amusement Rides and Devices
Rationale
The purpose of this ballot is to call out in F2291 the responsibility of a ride designer for patron evacuations on new ride/attraction designs. It calls for the designer to analyze the ride/attraction design for possible unexpected patron evacuations. The concept is that once an evacuation analysis is done, the manufacturer and owner can review it for further work. The assumption is that the output of this analysis is provided to the owner/operator per 5.6.3 of this standard. Per F770, the owner/operator will develop the evacuation plan for the ride/attraction. That collaboration would lead to further mitigations of the ride design for potential evacuation if required.
