ASTM C1782 currently does not include a consistent, comprehensive approach to the minimum frequency for various tests. This ballot proposes adding requirements that C140 testing for modulus of rupture, dimensional tolerances be performed every 12 months. In addition, the requirement for C1645 freeze-thaw testing for 12 months is proposed at 24 months to accommodate the 3+ months of time typically needed to complete the testing process. In addition to the proposed time intervals, language is also added to specify that testing must be performed on units with the same materials, mix design, and production methods as those to be delivered to a job. These changes will make the testing intervals and requirements in ASTM C1782 like those in ASTM C936 for Concrete Pavers, as well as in C1319 for Grid Pavers, C1372 for SRW units, and C90 for CMUs.
