New Guide for Additive manufacturing -- Environment, health and safety -- Standard guideline for use of metallic materials
1. Scope
The promotion of knowledge, stimulation of research and implementation of technology through the development of standards for additive manufacturing technologies. The work of this Committee will be coordinated with other ASTM technical committees and other national and international organizations having mutual or related interests.

Rationale
The method described in this document allows to assess the HSE risk with regard to the materials used, the process, the AM system installation conditions, the applicable good practices and the feedback from experience. The methodology is based on a characterization of physical hazards (e. g. fire and explosion), hazards to the health of the operator or the potentially exposed third parties in accordance with ISO 12100 and to the environment.
The title and scope are in draft form and are under development within this ASTM Committee.
