Revision of D8248-20 Standard Terminology for Smart Textiles

Rationale

Three new terms and definitions are being balloted for inclusion in the existing standard - D8248. They were proposed and discussed at the 3 February 2020 D13.50 committee meeting. The terms and definitions are as follows: Electrically conductive, n in textiles, the ability of a material to allow the flow of electrical current. Electrostatic dissipative, n in textiles, the ability of a fabric to prevent the surface accumulation of electrical charge. Electrically insulative, n in textiles, the ability of a material to block the flow of electrical current.
