New Practice for Evaluating Drainage of an Existing EIFS with Drainage Clad Wall Assembly

1. Scope

Evaluate drainage of an EIFS installed on building under a specified set of conditions

Keywords

flashing; water resistive barrier; weep system

Rationale

The drainage for EIFS Standard (E 2273) is a lab test primarily used to evaluate drainage efficiency for code compliance and is not applicable or practical to assess or evaluate systems installed on actual buildings. This new standard was suggested by a E6.58 member who feels a field drainage test or protocol would be helpful to evaluate EIFS that have been installed on building, in forensic evaluations, etc.

The title and scope are in draft form and are under development within this ASTM Committee.
