1.1 This standard specification describes the setup, validation, environmental considerations and use of non-laboratory devices used for the determination of the content of cannabinoids in cannabis containing products. This specification may be applied to any device used outside of typical laboratory environments. This specification is intended to provide guidance, performance information and applicable analysis ranges for non-laboratory testing devices used for cannabinoid determination.1.2 Units The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as the standard. No other units of measurement are included in this standard. 1.3 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.
D9; D9THC; THCA; CBD; CBDA; cannabidiolic acid; cannabidiol; 9-tetrahydrocannabinol and tetrahydrocannabinolic acid; hemp; THC testing; CBD testing; cannabinoid measurement; HPLC; liquid chromatography; portable cannabis analyzer, Cannabinoid analysis
Determination of cannabinoid content of cannabis is well known and standards exist or are being developed for laboratory instruments. The complexity and cost associated with laboratory analysis of cannabis samples often brings the analysis out of reach for smaller growers and processors of cannabis as well as cannabis regulators. Further, the size of the instrumentation used negates its use as a portable analysis tool. This standard specification addresses performance criteria and considerations for non-laboratory based measuring devices..
