Revision of F3128-15 Standard Specification for Poly(Vinyl Chloride) (PVC) Schedule 40 Drain, Waste, and Vent Pipe with a Cellular Core
Rationale
To address concerns expressed during the November 7 subcommittee meeting, we are taking out a project for this standard. A negative voter expressed concerns with respect to the change in impact requirements in a (now) previous proposal which replaced the room temperature impact requirements with low temperature impact requirements. As a condition of withdrawing the negative, we have committed to adding explanatory information into the standard with respect to the origin of the new impact values and to explore ways to ensure that extrusion quality testing is maintained in this standard. This may include addition of the room temperature impact values back into the standard such that there are 2 sets of impact requirements, the addition of a mandatory annex or appendix, but could also include other actions. The recently added low temperature impact requirements will be maintained in the standard.
