ASTM WK58192

New Practice for Determining Interior Surface Temperatures for Condensation Assessment of Fenestration Systems

1. Scope

This test method covers requirements and guidelines and specifies calibration procedures required for the measurement of the surface temperatures of fenestration systems installed into a test chamber or for in-laboratory commercial mock-up.

Keywords

Condensation Resistance, surface temperature, thermal transmittance, dew point, relative humidity, U-factor, saturation point, pychrometric chart

Rationale

The standard is needed so one singular method is referenced in building project specifications. It will be used by fenestration manufacturers and by project specification writers/developers.

The title and scope are in draft form and are under development within this ASTM Committee.
