1.1 This specification covers the minimum coefficient of retroreflection (RA) for conspicuity tape in service on vehicles and trailers. Compliance with this specification helps maintain the nighttime visibility of these vehicles while in service. 1.2 This specification may apply to conspicuity tape previously installed in accordance with a national or a regional regulation, such as ECE 104, FMVSS 108, or GB23254. 1.3 Units--The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as the standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematical conversions to SI units that are provided for information only and are not considered standard. 1.4 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.
