New Test Method for Determination of Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) in Natural Gas by Tunable Diode Laser Spectroscopy (TDLAS)

1. Scope

ASTM Committee D03 on Gaseous Fuels is committed to the promotion of knowledge and the development of terminology definitions, specifications, classifications, recommended practices, and methods of sampling, analysis and testing relating to gases used as commercial fuels including but not limited to natural gas, reformulated natural gas, hydrogen, fuel cell gases and other miscellaneous gaseous fuels.

Rationale

Pipeline on-line measurement of H2S using TDLAS is currently performed without a consensus standard test practice or method. Such a consensus test method is needed to ensure that data is collected in a consistent and comparable manner.
