New Guide for Guide for Standards-Based Testing of Radiation-Detection Systems

1. Scope

Scope This guide describes the test setups and processes needed to perform standards-based testing of radiological and nuclear detection instrumentation. This guide will reduce the potential for misinterpretation of performance requirements and test methods. Guidance will be provided for equipment set up, test set up, and the establishment of test fields and test zones. This guidance will address standards-established radiological, climatic, electromagnetic, and dynamic performance requirements and test methods according to areas of most concern and greatest interest. When adopted, this guide will provide a common setup method, which will lead to an increase in the test repeatability and consistency between testing organizations.
