ASTM International to Host Free D.C. Event on Standards & Global Collaboration in November

Translations

ASTM International will host an international panel of experts to discuss “Standards and Collaboration Around the Globe,” on Nov. 5 in Washington, D.C. The free event will take place noon to 1:30 p.m. in conjunction with ASTM International’s standards development meetings at the Washington Hilton Nov. 4-9.

The session will feature standards leaders from major regions of the world. They will provide insights into successes and challenges faced by standards bodies in setting high-quality standards that promote health, safety, trade, and more.

Taco van der Maten, marketing manager at PANalytical in the Netherlands and vice chairman of ASTM International’s board of directors, will moderate. Panelists include:

  • Adel A. Al-Qhtani, from the Gulf region’s GCC Standardization Organization (GSO), and
  • Fulgence St. Prix, from the Caribbean’s CARICOM Regional Organization for Standards and Quality (CROSQ).

Additional panelists have been invited.

ASTM International has memorandums of understanding (MOUs) with each of these standards bodies. The MOU program supports the use of ASTM International standards while also encouraging global participation in the continued development of new and revised standards. The program launched in 2001 and has grown to include more than 100 nations. For more information, visit www.astm.org/MOU.
