Stuart Schwotzer, senior geologist in the Construction Services Division at Bowser-Morner Laboratories in Dayton, Ohio, has received the ASTM International Prevost Hubbard Award for his outstanding contributions to the development of standards for road and paving materials.

Committee D04 on Road and Paving Materials presented the award to Schwotzer, a member of ASTM International since 1978. He has also received the D04 Honorary Membership Award in 2005 and an Award of Appreciation in 2003 for his longtime service to the committee. He serves on Committees C09 on Concrete and Concrete Aggregates and E36 on Accreditation and Certification in addition to D04.

Schwotzer specializes in the testing and evaluation of aggregates used in construction. He held various roles at the Ohio Department of Transportation in Columbus, Ohio, including testing laboratory administrator and aggregate section head, before joining Bowser-Morner in 1997.

Outside ASTM International, Schwotzer is a member of the American Institute of Professional Geologists and the Society for Mining Engineers. He holds a bachelor’s degree in earth science from Youngstown University, Youngstown, Ohio.
