THE TERM “INDUSTRIAL WATERS” refers to water used for process or auxiliary purposes in an operating plant. Typically the water that comes into the plant is surface water (from rivers, lakes, or seas) or ground water (from wells). The water may or may not have been treated to reduce suspended solids, to control biological content, to adjust dissolved solids content, to control corrosiveness, or solids precipitation, etc.
