Rationale

ASTM C1891- Standard Test Method for Fineness of Hydraulic Cement by Air Jet Sieving at 45um is currently accepted as an alternative test method to ASTM C430 for ASTM C150 and ASTM C595 cements. ASTM C1891 is commonly used in the production of ASTM C989 Slag Cements as an alternative test method to C430 and is proposed to be included as an alternate test method to ASTM C430 in ASTM C989. This test method is currently going to be balloted for other cementitious materials in (C91, C1328, C1329 and C311)
