Effect of Cold-Bending and Strain-Age-Embrittlement on the Fracture Behavior of CSA G40.21 M 350 WT Steel

The galvanizing process shifted the scatter band for impact energy values of the CSA 350 WT, category 4, plate material by approximately 10°C. The cold-straining alone produced the most significant shift (30°C) in the ductile-to-brittle transition temperature. This particular steel was found to be less susceptible to strain-age-embrittlement.
