Quantitative Determination of Cocaine in Illicit Powders by Free Zone Capillary Electrophoresis

CODEN: JFSCAS

Abstract

A free zone capillary electrophoresis method was developed for the quantitation of cocaine in illicit powders. The method uses a 75 mM sodium phosphate-sodium borate pH 8.5 buffered system and separates the most common cocaine adulterants and impurities in eight minutes. Linearity, accuracy and reproducibility studies are presented, as well as comparisons with quantitative results obtained by gas liquid chromatography and high pressure liquid chromatography methods.
