YOU MUST BE REGISTERED TO ATTEND ASTM MEETINGS. Use our online registration form where you have the ability to register for multiple events, pay fees in advance using a credit card and receive an electronic confirmation.

When you preregister online you will receive emails on committee meetings, special announcements and other information that will help you prepare for your meeting. The registration information significantly assists us in preparations for the committee week.

The cut-off for preregistration is Wednesday, May 13, 2015. After this date please register on-site at the ASTM Registration Desk at the Marriott Anaheim.


All meetings will be held at the Marriott Anaheim, 700 West Convention Way, Anaheim, CA 92802. Reservations may be made by telephoning the hotel directly at 800-266-9432. To make your hotel reservation on-line, visit: Registration for May 2015 Committee Week. Select your dates and proceed as instructed. If you need assistance with your hotel reservation call the hotel directly.

Group rate will be honored until the ASTM block is full but no later than Friday, April 17, 2015. ASTM rates are $159 single/double plus 15% tax (when calling directly you must mention ASTM committee week to receive a group rate). You may be charged a higher rate if reservations are received after the cut-off date, or when the block is full.

U.S. GOVERNMENT RATES: The Marriott Anaheim has a limited number of rooms at the US government per diem rate of $138.00. Please refer to the ASTM International government block to make your reservation.

There is a 15% occupancy tax a 2% Anaheim Tourism Improvement District Assessment, a California State Tourism Fee of $0.70 per night and an occupancy tax of $.23 per night in effect at the time of check-out.

IMPORTANT! ASTM Rates are non-commissionable. If you book your reservation through a travel agent they must ask for a non-commissioned ASTM Group Rate. ASTM cannot adjust your higher rate if commissions were paid to a travel agency.

ADVANCE DEPOSIT: The Marriott Anaheim requires a credit card to guarantee your reservation.

CONFIRMATION NOTICES: The Marriott Anaheim Reservation Center sends confirmations by email.

CANCELLATION/CHANGE POLICY: At the Marriott Anaheim, notice of cancellation must be received prior to 6:00pm on day of arrival.

INTERNET: The Marriott Anaheim provides internet access throughout the hotel at a cost of $12.95 per day.

ASTM MEMBERS WORK AREA (COMPLIMENTARY INTERNET): ASTM is providing computers with an internet connection. This area will also be wireless for your laptop computer. You may visit the ASTM website, apply or renew your membership, order publications or check your email.

AIRPORT SHUTTLE SERVICE: Super Shuttle Service is available at the baggage claim terminal. The cost is $20 per person round trip from the John Wayne Airport and $32 per person round trip from LAX. Taxis cost approximately $35 from John Wayne Airport and $90 from LAX.


ASTM staff will provide several training sessions on various subjects to educate and assist officers, members and non-members of ASTM committees. The following topics will be discussed:

  • Workshop: Introduction to the Interlaboratory Study Program (ILS)
    Monday, 12:00pm - 1:00pm
    Wednesday, 8:00am - 9:00am

    This module is designed to familiarize members with the ILS Program, its features, benefits, capabilities, and the online registration process. Research Reports will also be specifically addressed during the session. This workshop will benefit anyone planning to run (or participate in) an interlaboratory study to generate a precision statement for a new or existing ASTM test method.

    Interlaboratory Studies (ILS) Question and Answer Sessions

    In addition to the ILS Workshop schedule above, several ILS Q&A Sessions have been planned with ASTM ILS Staff. Please feel free to drop by and ask questions about, or brainstorm ideas for, your upcoming interlaboratory studies. ILS representatives will also be available to review the status of your current interlaboratory studies and help you plan the next steps. Sessions are open to all, and no appointments are needed.

  • Responsibilities for Subcommittee Chairman, Task Group Chair & Technical Contact (Tuesday) 12:00pm - 1:00pm

    Recently taken on the role of a subcommittee chairman, task group leader, or technical contact in your committee, this meeting module will provide an overview of the duties and responsibilities associated with each role. We will also navigate the ASTM website to review available resources that will assist you in your standards development work. Several tools that will be discussed are work item registration, collaboration areas, submitting items for ballot, and using virtual meetings.

  • Developing and Revising an ASTM Standard (Wednesday) 12:00pm - 1:00pm

    During this joint Technical Committee Operations and Editorial module, we will review both new and revised standards as they go through the development and publication process. We will cover how standard ideas are introduced, drafted, and publicized as well as review ASTM's electronic tools and time-tested techniques for accelerating the development of your standard. Included in the workshop will be a brief review of work items registration, the three stages of balloting, and an explanation of the key roles of your editor and the standard's technical contact.

  • Refreshments will be available at all sessions.

    Several ASTM committees collect a voluntary fee to support activities associated within the committee such as awards, social events, etc. Each committee determines the amount, encourages your contribution, and can be paid on-line in advance on the preregistration page. This voluntary contribution is not an ASTM International society fee.


    Please purchase your tickets on-line in advance if you plan to attend any events. Your tickets will be available on site at the registration desk.


    Committee Week Meetings offer on-site services from the ASTM staff. We provide photocopying service, audio/visual equipment, and a members' work area with complimentary internet computers. We also have an editor on-site to assist you with the form and style of standards, editorial changes and first drafts of standards.


    Join your elected officers and staff for a continental breakfast on Wednesday morning at 7:00am sharp at the Marriott Anaheim. At this breakfast, you will hear an update on ASTM and have an opportunity to ask questions or share your comments. You may pick up your ticket at the ASTM registration desk.


    Join us for coffee and breakfast pastries Monday through Wednesday from 8:30am to 9:30am at the Marriott Anaheim. A representative from the Anaheim Convention and Visitors Bureau will be on hand with information on what to see and do in Anaheim.     Attendees have the option to determine their dress at ASTM meetings. Business casual attire is acceptable at this meeting and appropriate for Anaheim. The average temperatures in May range from a high of 73 degrees to a low of 55 degrees.
