Significance and Use

Heat-fail temperature establishes a limiting temperature above which the adhesive is not to be exposed in service under shear load.

Scope

1.1 This test method is intended to determine the temperature at which specimens bonded with hot melt adhesive delaminate under static load in shear.

1.2 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as the standard. The values given in parentheses are for information only.
