Durability Performance of Polymer-Modified Mortars



Polymer-modified mortars have recently been widely used in construction work throughout the world because of their high strength, excellent adhesion, waterproofness, and chemical resistance. The durability performance of such mortars has not been extensively studied until now. Polymer-modified mortars using various polymer dispersions were prepared with different polymer-cement ratios and tested for weatherability, freezing-thawing resistance, heat resistance, and chemical resistance. The test results demonstrate that most polymer-modified mortars have better durability performance than conventional cement mortar.
