Gaskets shall conform to the required physical properties such as hardness, elongation, tensile strength, tear strength and compression. The gasket material shall be tested for effects of heat aging. They shall be tested for weight increase due to water absorption and shall also be tested for volume decrease due to oil absorption. Gasket material shall be tested for ozone resistance.
