About the Course

The main objective of this course is to present in an easy understandable way the process description, unit design, and basic engineering calculations for three field processes: i-separation of oil, gas and water, ii-desalting of crude oil and iii-dehydration of natural gas. Information presented in this course will be useful in optimum design and operation of units involved in these oilfield processes with environmental and economic considerations.

Who Should Attend

This course is intended for:

  • Chemical and process engineers
  • Petroleum and reservoir engineers
  • Engineers, scientists, geologists, operators and computer programmers working within the petroleum industries and research centers especially in the oil/gas production fields and midstream sector as well as refineries.
  • Managers and professionals working in environmental / government organizations and oil and gas research centers.

ASTM Standards Referenced

MNL73, MNL58, MNL50 and some ASTM-D test methods will be used in this course.

Relevant ASTM test methods that will be cited are: D6470, D6304, D4006, D95, D4928, D97, D2887, D6377, D4807, D665, D2650, D3279, D7996, D3921, D2688, D4810, D2622, D5863, D86, D1160, D1293.
