About the Course

Most environments are corrosive to metals and alloys but the suspectibility to corrosion varies from metal to metal, alloy to alloy, and environment to environment. Corrosion problems can not only be costly, but dangerous, wasteful, and unsightly. Understanding the fundamentals of corrosion necessary not only for identifying corrosion mechanisms, but also for preventing corrosion and for predicting the corrosion behavoir of materials under various service conditions.
