About the Course

This course covers the foundations for implementing and applying a Corrective Action and Preventive Action (CAPA) program for the cannabis industry, in conformance with ASTM D8229. You will gain an understanding of how to use this standard in your business, the benefits of a CAPA program, and how it will ensure compliance with any federal, state, or local requirements.

The instructor will draw off of real-world examples relevant to the cannabis industry to enable effective implementation of a CAPA program. Many states require forms of investigations and corrective action programs as they relate to customer complaints, product failures, and recalls. A CAPA Program is a robust tool to address all these needs.

This half day course is broken down into two modules. The first module lays the foundation and identifies the primary elements and sequence of events for conducting a CAPA. The second module dives deeper into how to define a problem statement, the conducting of root cause investigations, tools that can aid you in effectively investigating problems, and how to effectively close out a CAPA.
