About the Course
This test method covers the determination of nitrogen in liquid hydrocarbons, including petroleum process streams and lubricating oils in the concentration range from 40 ug/g to 10,000 ug/g nitrogen. For light hydrocarbons containing less than 100ug/g nitrogen, Test Method D4629 can be more appropriate.
The course takes approximately 1 hour to complete and includes instructional video content, interactive knowledge checks, and a self-grading quiz. Downloadable resources include a pdf of the standard.

By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Recall apparatus, reagents, and materials used for the determination of nitrogen by baot-inlet chemiluminescence, including volumetric and gravimetric preparations for solutions.
