    Introduction to Pressure Vessel Inspection – by Using API 510

    This e-learning course is designed to provide individuals with a broad general knowledge relating to maintenance, inspection, repair, and alteration of pressure vessels. The course will focus on the requirements outlined in API 510 and their application to real-world examples.

    • efficiently reference paragraphs in API 510; and
    • complete calculations related to pressure vessel inspection.

    Learning Outcomes

    By the end of this course you will be able to:

    • Identify the responsibilities for owner/user organization, engineer, repair organization, inspector, and examiners
    • Understand the basics of inspection, examination, and pressure testing practices for in-service pressure vessels
    • Practice the rules for inspection intervals and extent of inspection for pressure vessels
    • Calculate corrosion rate, remaining life, next inspection date, FFS analysis of corroded regions, and MAWP for continued service
    • Understand the rules for repairs, alterations, and rerating of in-service pressure vessels

    Who Should Attend

    This training course is intended for inspectors, engineers, maintenance and QA personnel who work for owner-user companies, inspection companies, fabricators, maintenance service and repair companies, inspection companies, EPC's and others who want an understanding of the principles and applications of API 510. Experience with API and ASME Codes is recommended for this course. API ICP exam candidates should be aware that this course does not prepare learners for the API 510 Certification.
