This test method covers the determination of the solidification point of p-Xylene with purity greater than 99.5 %.
Formerly under the jurisdiction of Committee D16 on Aromatic Hydrocarbons and Related Materials, this test method was withdrawn in December 2004 in accordance with section 10.6.3.1 of the Regulations Governing ASTM Technical Committees, which requires that standards shall be updated by the end of the eighth year since the last approval date.

1.2 The following applies to all specified limits in this test method: for purposes of determining conformance with this test method, an observed value or a calculated value shall be rounded off "to the nearest unit" in the last right hand digit used in expressing the specification limit, in accordance with the rounding-off method of Practice E 29.
