This specification covers magnesium alloys in ingot form for remelting for the manufacture of sand castings, permanent mold castings, investment castings, and die castings. The chemical composition shall conform to the requirements and limits prescribed in the specification. Samples for the chemical analysis may be taken from the molten metal when the ingot is poured or from the ingots.
