ABOUT THE EVENT

The 15th Annual Hydrogen Embrittlement Workshop will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at the Marriott Marquis in Houston, TX. Sponsored by ASTM Committee F07 on Aerospace and Aircraft, the workshop will be held in conjunction with the November standards development meetings of the committee.

The workshop is the only annual technical meeting devoted to hydrogen embrittlement testing technology for the aerospace industry, and is an ideal setting for exchanging ideas with, and obtaining feedback from, your technical colleagues in the hydrogen embrittlement testing community.

Abstract Submission

Presentations are solicited in all areas of hydrogen embrittlement technology including evaluation of existing test methods, proposal of new test methods, failure mechanisms, prevention and other related topics. No written paper is required.

Those interested in presenting at the workshop should submit a 250-300-word abstract to Workshop Co-chairs: Salim Brahimi at sbrahimi@indfast.org and Sriraman Rajagopalan at sriraman.rajagopalan@mcgill.ca no later than September 27, 2019.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Online registration is now open and closes October 30, 2019. The fees for this workshop are listed below.

All Attendees – All attendees, including presenters and ASTM members, are urged to register online for this event so that space requirements can be accommodated. If you do not register online by the registration closing date, then you must register upon arrival at the workshop. All attendees must check in at the ASTM registration desk upon arrival at workshop.

Students – A student's fee is waived, provided he or she is a full-time student and is not employed full time. After registering online, the student must check in at the ASTM Registration Desk on site and present his/her student ID.

Cancellation – A refund of the workshop fee will be honored only if requested at least 10 business days prior to the workshop. To cancel your registration and request a refund, please contact Symposia Operations at symposia@astm.org, or 610-832-9698.

CONTINUING EDUCATION UNITS

Workshop attendees interested in receiving 0.70 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) must complete the CEU application form in the back of the program booklet and submit it to an ASTM staff member on site. You must be registered and have attended the entire workshop in order to receive the CEU’s. A certificate will be sent to the attendee approximately 4 to 6 weeks after the workshop.

HOTEL INFORMATION

All meetings will be held at the Marriott Marquis Houston, 1777 Walker Street, Houston, TX, 77010.

Hotel Reservations: Staying at our contracted Hotel is important to ASTM International and ultimately to you as an ASTM member. When you stay outside of the official ASTM International guest room block, ASTM is charged a penalty fee when our contractual guest room commitment is not realized. Please support ASTM by reserving your sleeping room at our official hotel.

Reservations may be made via the hotel's online reservation system at The Marriott Marquis Houston Reservations.

Reservations may also be made by telephoning the hotel directly at (713)-654-1777 or 1-(800) 228-9290. One night's room and tax deposit is required to confirm a reservation.

The discounted rate will be honored until the ASTM block is full, but no later than October 4th 2019. The ASTM rate is $199 plus tax. You may be charged a higher rate if reservations are received after the cut-off date, or when the block is full. The hotel requires a deposit of one night's room and tax or a major credit card to guarantee your reservation, once submitted a confirmation number will be provided electronically.

The Marriott Marquis Houston has a limited number of rooms at the government per diem rate. Reservations may be made via our online reservation system at Marriott Marquis Houston Government Reservations . You must present your ID at the front desk upon check-in.

IMPORTANT! ASTM Rates are non-commissionable. If you book your reservation through a travel agent, they must ask for a non-commissioned ASTM Group Rate. ASTM cannot adjust your higher rate if commissions were paid to a travel agency.

INTERNET: The Marriott Marquis Houston offers a complimentary basic wireless connection in the guest rooms with the ASTM group rate.

CANCELLATION/CHANGE POLICY: At The Marriott Marquis Houston, notice of cancellation must be received 72 hours prior to day of arrival, in order to avoid a charge.

ASTM MEMBERS WORK AREA: ASTM will provide computers with internet connections. This area will also be wireless for your laptop computer. You may visit the ASTM website, apply or renew your membership, order publications or check your email. The complimentary wireless service is limited to the members' work area and the meeting rooms.

FUTURE MEETING DATES
