Committee F04 will be celebrating their 50th Anniversary on Tuesday November 13, 2012. Sponsored by ASTM Committee F04 on Medical and Surgical Materials and Devices, the symposium will be held at the Hyatt Regency in Atlanta, GA, in conjunction with the November standards development meetings of the committee.

Committee F04 on Medical and Surgical Materials and Devices will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of its founding in 1962 at a Symposium to be held during November Committee week on November 13, 2012 between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta. The symposium will be followed the same evening by an awards reception at which members of the committee will be recognized for contributions to the committee and to standards development for medical devices.

The speakers at the symposium will highlight the history of the committee, its significant accomplishments, current standards program, and future directions for the committee. Speakers from the different stakeholders will discuss the need for and impact of ASTM F04 standards from the perspectives of industry, regulatory and surgeons who use the devices.

There will be no fee for attendance at the symposium for members and guests of the committee and electronic versions of full papers based upon the presentations will be provided to registered attendees and all members of the committee.

The language of the symposium will be English.


Online registration opens approximately 8 weeks before the symposium and closes November 7, 2012. The fees to attend this symposium are listed below.

Students – A student's fee is waived, provided that he/she is a full-time student and is not employed full time. After registering online, the student must check in at the ASTM Registration Desk on site and present his/her student ID.

All attendees, including presenters and ASTM members, are urged to register online for this event so that space requirements can be accommodated. If you do not register online by the closing date, then you must register upon arrival at the symposium. All attendees must check in at the ASTM registration desk upon arrival at symposium.

AIRPORT SHUTTLE SERVICE: Link Airport Shuttle Service is available at the ground transportation terminal. The cost is $16.50 one way and $29 round trip. Taxis cost approximately $35.

MARTA (Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority) - From inside Hartsfield International Airport, MARTA runs Monday thru Friday from 5:00am thru 1:00am every 20 minutes and on weekends and holidays from 5:00am thru 12:30am every 25 minutes. The cost for MARTA is $2.50 one way.

PARKING: Valet parking is available at $32 per day with in and out privileges.
