D08 Roofing and Waterproofing
Event Name: June 2014 Committee Week
Pre-registration requested to attend this meeting.

A Workshop on Building Waterproofing will be held Monday, June 23, 2014, 8:00a - 12:00p. Sponsored by ASTM Committee D08 on Roofing and Waterproofing, the workshop will be held at the Sheraton Toronto in Toronto, Ontario, Canada in conjunction with the June standards development meetings of the committee.

This presentation and the accompanying workshop address some of the most frequently asked questions received at ASTM headquarters in regards to waterproofing standards under the jurisdiction of ASTM Committee D08.22. Various types of waterproofing membranes, including sheet-applied, built-up, bentonite, and liquid-applied, will be introduced and typical uses and applications of each will be discussed. Guide specifications, application guides and detail guides will be referenced. We will touch upon surface preparation, protection and drainage, and field testing. Local projects will be highlighted. Following the presentation, manufacturer members will have mockups, demonstrations and hands-on opportunities set up for attendees to explore various waterproofing systems.
