    About the Event

    The 2015 ASTM International Rolling Element Bearings Conference to be held April 29-30, 2015. Sponsored by ASTM Committee F34 on Rolling Element Bearings, the conference will be held at the Marriott Anaheim in Anaheim, CA, in conjunction with the April standards development meetings of the Committee.

    This conference is the eighth in a series that proposes the exchange of information on bearing technology at the international level. The first four conferences were sponsored by REBG (Rolling Element Bearing Group). This conference is the fourth sponsored by ASTM international.

    The goal of this conference is to provide an international forum for the exchange of information on recent achievements in bearing technology. The conference will begin with a series of technical presentations by leading experts in their field followed by a roundtable session discussing the subject of testing methods and specifications (F34 Committee). Held in conjunction to the conference will be a 2015 Bearing Technology Exhibit, which will consist of a series of booths showing different products, representing the latest advances in bearings, manufacturing capabilities, materials, products that influence bearings, etc.

    Who Should Attend?
    Attendees who would gain from the event include various aspects of the bearings community, including, but not limited to, bearing manufacturers, bearing users, manufacturers of bearing parts, lubricant, customers, and consultants.

    Conference attendees are also encouraged to participate in the F34 committee meetings that will be taking place on Tuesday April 28, 2015. The meeting schedule is as follows:

    Registration Information

    Online registration opens approximately 8 weeks before the symposium and closes April 22, 2015. The fees to attend this symposium are listed below. These fees include:

    -the Tuesday evening reception (cash bar),
    -the Wednesday and Thursday luncheon and
    -the Thursday dinner, banquet (sponsored bar)

    Students – The student's fee is to cover the cost of the social events and food functions. Admission to the technical sessions is waived.

    Special Fee - The special fee does not include admission to the social events listed above. The special fee is for DOD participants only.

    All attendees, including presenters and ASTM members, are urged to register online for this event so that space requirements can be accommodated. If you do not register online by the closing date, then you must register upon arrival at the symposium. All attendees must check in at the ASTM registration desk upon arrival at symposium.

    Continuing Education Units

    Symposium attendees interested in receiving 1.4 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) should complete a CEU application form at the adjournment of the symposium, and then submit it to the ASTM staff member on site. A certificate will be sent to the attendee approximately 4 to 6 weeks after the symposium.

    Hotel Information


    Group rate will be honored until the ASTM block is full but no later than Wednesday, March 18, 2015. ASTM rates are $159 single/double plus taxes and fees (when calling directly you must mention ASTM to receive a group rate). You may be charged a higher rate if reservations are received after the cut-off date, or when the block is full.

    The ASTM Room Block is CURRENTLY SOLD OUT on the nights of April 29, 30, and May 1st at the Anaheim Marriott Hotel.You are able to reserve a room at the ASTM Group rate at this hotel if departing on on April 29th or earlier.

    ASTM Group rooms are available at our additional overflow hotel. The Courtyard Anaheim at Disneyland Resort, 2045 South Harbor Blvd. The hotel is right next door to the Anaheim Marriott and is a 2 minute walk. The Courtyard Anaheim group rate is $159.00 single or double.

    Reservations can be made by calling toll free 1-800-814-1017 or 714-740-2645 and mentioning the ASTM International group. The discounted group rate will be honored until the ASTM overflow block is full but no later than Wednesday, April 1, 2015.

    U.S. GOVERNMENT RATES: The Marriott Anaheim has a limited number of rooms at the government per diem rate of $138. Please refer to the ASTM International government block to make your reservation.

    There is a 15% occupancy tax, a 2% Anaheim Tourism Improvement District Assessment, and a California State Tourism Fee of $0.70 per night.

    When making your hotel reservation, please advise the hotel and ASTM of any disability which will require special attention. The Marriott Anaheim is in compliance with ADA standards.

    IMPORTANT! ASTM Rates are non-commissionable. If you book your reservation through a travel agent they must ask for a non-commissioned ASTM Group Rate. ASTM cannot adjust your higher rate if commissions were paid to a travel agency.

    ADVANCE DEPOSIT: The Marriott Anaheim requires a credit card to guarantee your reservation.

    CONFIRMATION NOTICES: The Marriott Anaheim Reservation Center sends confirmations by email.

    CANCELLATION/CHANGE POLICY: At the Marriott Anaheim, notice of cancellation must be received prior to 6:00pm on day of arrival.

    INTERNET: The Marriott Anaheim provides internet access throughout the hotel at a cost of $12.95 per day.     Transportation and Directions

    AIRPORT SHUTTLE SERVICE: Super Shuttle Service is available at the baggage claim terminal. The cost is $21 per person round trip from the John Wayne Airport and $32 per person round trip from LAX. Taxis cost approximately $35 from John Wayne Airport and $90 from LAX.

    PARKING: Parking is available for $24 self-parking and $28 valet parking with in and out privileges.

    Dress and Weather

    Attendees have the option to determine their dress at ASTM meetings. Business casual attire is acceptable at this meeting and appropriate for Anaheim. The average temperatures in April range from a high of 76 degrees to a low of 53 degrees.
