In light of COVID-19 (coronavirus) and our priority for the health and welfare of our members and staff, ASTM International has decided that it is inadvisable and impractical to hold the committee meetings in Prague on April 27-May 1. The decision was based on several factors, including, but not limited to:
Staff managers will be contacting committee leaders to plan alternatives for conducting committee business. For any committees that collected money for events, ASTM will work to issue refunds as necessary. Attendees are responsible for cancelling their own hotel reservations.

The Symposium on the Technologies and Metrology of Checkpoint Screening Equipment will be held Wednesday and Thursday, April 5-6, 2017. Sponsored by ASTM Committee F12 on Security Systems and Equipment, the symposium will be held at the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel in Toronto, ON, Canada, in conjunction with the April 2017 standards development meetings of Committee.
The objective of this symposium is to provide a forum to discuss the state of metrology for security checkpoint technologies, the development and innovation of these technologies, and the opportunity for documentary standards development.
This symposium will consider two primary topics: 1) the metrology associated with the mature technologies used in safety and security search and screening equipment and 2) the technology being developed to advance search and screening capability. The discussion on the metrology will include the development of test methods, the design of test objects, uncertainty analyses, and documentary standards. The technology portion will include descriptions of those technologies that have been recently been introduced into the security/safety market and/or hardware or software modifications that can improve the performance of safety/security search and screening equipment.
The language of the symposium will be English.

Students – A student's fee is waived, provided that he/she is a full-time student and is not employed full time. After registering online, the student must check in at the ASTM Registration Desk on site and present his/her student ID. The waived fee includes admission to the technical sessions only.
All attendees, including presenters and ASTM members, are urged to register online for this event so that space requirements can be accommodated. If you do not register online by the closing date, then you must register upon arrival at the symposium. All attendees must check in at the ASTM registration desk upon arrival at symposium.
