Green Eggs and Ham – No Longer Means a Dr. Seuss Book

F&B Suppliers: Are You Ready to Provide "Green" Food & Beverage at Events?

Food and beverage are basic components of most events. Suppliers and planners have an immediate opportunity to make events more environmentally sustainable.

To help guide your efforts, planners and suppliers can rely on ASTM 2773 which specifies the Evaluation and Selection of Food and Beverage for Environmentally Sustainable Meetings, Events, Trade Shows and Conferences. These standards developed in conjunction with the Convention Industry Council's APEX initiative set a path toward more environmentally sustainable events.

Did you know that not pre-filling water glasses at banquet tables during three days of served lunches for 2,200 attendees will conserve 520 gallons of water?

This type of waste is no longer a luxury that we can afford. Stakeholders and management is challenging us to make changes now. Join us for an interactive session where we will explore how suppliers can use the standards to improve their own operations and assist clients with their "green" meetings and events. Meeting and event professionals will also be interested to learn what steps their suppliers will take.

    Benefits for Suppliers:
    Benefits for Planners:
    1. Plan proactively to accommodate your clients1. Learn the requirements for environmentally sustainable meetings – actions for planner and suppliers
    2. Create a competitive advantage2. Position RFPS and contracts to discern which suppliers can support a green meeting
    3. Improve your internal operations3. Start the dialogue with suppliers now so you are ready
    4. Be ready to have positive conversations with clients

After attending this session, you will no longer think about "green eggs and ham" instead you will be prepared to:

    • Relate the key categories in the standards to your own operations
    • Identify elements of the standards that are important to your clients
    • Determine efforts which will save money
    • Develop a strategy to implement ASTM 2773
