    About the Event

    The 40th Symposium on Pesticide Formulation and Delivery Systems: Formulation, Application and Adjuvant Innovation will be held Tuesday - Thursday, October 22-24, 2019. Sponsored by ASTM Committee E35 on Pesticides, Antimicrobials, and Alternative Control Agents, the symposium will be held at the Marriott Marquis in Houston, TX in conjunction with the October standards development meetings the committee.

    Objective
    This symposium will provide a forum for the presentation and discussion of formulation and application technologies associated with crop protection and adjuvant products. Primary attention will be directed to presentations related to:

    • Novel formulation development and technology advancements for weed resistance
    • Application technologies related to drift control
    • Product stewardship, sustainability, and safety
    • Global regulatory trends impacting agrochemical formulations
    • Physical and chemical test methods related to crop protection products

    Other topics of interest include but are not limited to; seed treatment formulations, pollinators, adjuvant technology, and innovative application technologies; including UAS delivery systems and aerial application advancements.

    Who Should Attend
    This symposium is targeted to individuals and companies involved in the development and/or research of agrochemical formulations, chemistries and application and delivery systems. These entities also tend to be the stakeholders and interested parties.

    Registration Information

    Online registration is now open and closes October 16, 2019. The fees to attend this symposium are listed below.

    All Attendees – All attendees including presenters and ASTM members, are urged to register online for this event so that space requirements can be accommodated. If you do not register online by the closing date, then you must register upon arrival at the symposium. All attendees must check in at the ASTM registration desk upon arrival at symposium.

    Students – A student’s fee is waived, provided he/she is a full-time student and is not employed full time. After registering online, the student must check in at the ASTM Registration Desk on site and present his/her student ID.

    Continuing Education Units

    Symposium attendees interested in receiving 1.3 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) must complete the CEU application form in the back of the program booklet and submit it to an ASTM staff member on site. You must be registered and have attended the entire symposium in order to receive the CEU’s. A certificate will be sent to the attendee approximately 4 to 6 weeks after the symposium.

    Hotel Information

    All meetings will be held at The Marriott Marquis Houston, 1777 Walker Street, Houston, TX, 77010.

    Hotel Reservations: Staying at our contracted Hotel is important to ASTM International and ultimately to you as an ASTM member.     The discounted rate will be honored until the ASTM block is full, but no later than September 20th 2019. The ASTM rate is $199 plus tax. You may be charged a higher rate if reservations are received after the cut-off date, or when the block is full. The hotel requires a deposit of one night's room and tax or a major credit card to guarantee your reservation, once submitted a confirmation number will be provided electronically.

    CANCELLATION/CHANGE POLICY: At The Marriott Marquis Houston, notice of cancellation must be received 72 hours prior to day of arrival, in order to avoid a charge.

    ASTM MEMBERS WORK AREA: ASTM will provide computers with internet connections. This area will also be wireless for your laptop computer. You may visit the ASTM website, apply or renew your membership, order publications or check your email. The complimentary wireless service is limited to the members' work area and the meeting rooms.

    HOUSTON METRORAIL: At a cost of $1.25, guests can sit back, relax and will be dropped off curbside at either The George Bush Intercontinental Airport or The William P. Hobby Airport. Pick-up from the airport to the Downtown Houston area occurs every 30 minutes from 6:00am-12:58am. Approximate travel time is anywhere from an hour to an hour and twenty minutes.     SHUTTLE SERVICES: Super Shuttle is a ride service that will take a hotel guest anywhere from 40 minutes to an hour between the hotel and the William P. Hobby airport. Cost is $38 for up to three passengers. For travel to the George Bush Intercontinental Airport, rides will take anywhere from an hour to an hour and twenty minutes, with a cost of $51 for up to three passengers.     TAXI: TAXI: From The William P. Hobby Airport, the cost of a taxi is estimated to be $30. From The George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), the cost of a taxi is estimated to be $52.

    Dress and Weather

    Attendees have the option to determine their dress at ASTM meetings. Business casual attire is acceptable at this meeting and appropriate for Houston TX. The average temperatures in November range from a high of 73 degrees Fahrenheit to a low of 52 degrees Fahrenheit.
