A seminar titled Generation Z- Interacting with the Next Generation will be held Wednesday, April 11, 2018. This seminar is sponsored by ASTM Committee E18 on Sensory Evaluation and will be held at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina in San Diego, CA, in conjunction with the April development meetings of Committee E18.
Objective and Scope
This seminar will give attendees the chance to learn about Generation Z, the do’s and don’ts of testing with these young consumers, and how each development stage creates different testing opportunities. The tentative program is below.
Part 1: Development stages --- the cognitive development of kids
Part 2: Generation Z --- how are they different
Part 3: Testing with this consumer – knowing their development and exposure to technology, what can we ask/do?

A student’s fee is waived, provided that he/she is a full-time student and is not employed full time. After registering online, the student must check in at the ASTM Registration Desk on site and present his/her student ID.
All attendees, including presenters and ASTM members, are urged to register online for this event so that space requirements can be accommodated. If you do not register online by the closing date, then you must register upon arrival at the seminar. All attendees must check in at the ASTM registration desk upon arrival at seminar.

Seminar attendees interested in receiving 0.3 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) should complete a CEU application form at the adjournment of the seminar, and then submit it to the ASTM staff member on site. A certificate will be sent to the attendee approximately 4 to 6 weeks after the seminar.

All meetings will be held at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina, 1380 Harbor Island, San Diego, CA 92101.
There are two towers in this hotel, please take note when booking your hotel room which tower your committee will be meeting in. The following committee meetings will be held in the Bay Tower: D07, D10, D14, D22, D28, D30, E33, E35, F02, F18, F20, F40. All other committee meetings and registration will be held in the Marina Tower. Committee Week Services will be provided in both towers.
Hotel Reservations: Staying at our contracted hotel is important to ASTM, to the destination where we are holding this meeting, and ultimately to you as an ASTM member. When you book a hotel outside of the block, and a contracted room goes unsold, we must pay penalty fees to the hotel. Please support ASTM by reserving your sleeping room at our official hotel. The discounted rate will be honored until the ASTM block is full, but no later than March 02, 2018. ASTM rates are $199 plus tax. You may be charged a higher rate if reservations are received after the cut-off date, or when the block is full. The hotel requires a credit card to guarantee your reservation, once submitted a confirmation number will be provided electronically.

The Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina has a limited number of rooms at the government per diem rate. If you are eligible for the government rate select “I have an access code” and enter ASTMGOV. Reservations may be made via our online reservation system at Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina Government Reservations. You must present your ID at the front desk upon check-in.
IMPORTANT! ASTM Rates are non-commissionable. If you book your reservation through a travel agent, they must ask for a non-commissioned ASTM Group Rate. ASTM cannot adjust your higher rate if commissions were paid to a travel agency.
CANCELLATION/CHANGE POLICY: At the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina Hotel, notice of cancellation must be received 3 days prior to day of arrival in order to avoid a charge. Failure to do so will insure a penalty equal to the cost of one night's room and tax.
INTERNET: In-room high-speed internet access is included in the daily resort charge of $22 .
ASTM MEMBERS WORK AREA: ASTM will provide computers with internet connections. This area will also be wireless for your laptop computer. You may visit the ASTM website, apply or renew your membership, order publications or check your email. The complimentary wireless service is limited to the members' work area and the meeting rooms.
