    About the Event

Abstracts for presentation are invited for the Workshop on User Experience with Standard Practice E3076 on Slope Determination to be held Wednesday, May 13, 2020. This workshop is sponsored by ASTM Committee E08 on Fatigue and Fracture and will be held at the Boston Marriott Copley Place in Boston, MA, in conjunction with the May standards development meetings of the committee.

    Objective and Scope

Recently, the ASTM E3076 “Standard Practice for Determination of the Slope in the Linear Region of a Test Record” has been published along with the benchmark dataset. This workshop will give users of this standard a platform to share their findings with this analysis method.

Topics for consideration include, but not limited to:

    • Comparison of SDAR with other methods
    • Characteristics of datasets that fail quality metrics
    • Situations where SDAR does not work
    • Evaluation of the quality metric values utilized in the standard
    • Alternative quality metrics
    • Pre-processing of datasets to reduce search range
    • Treatment of data that is not monotonically increasing in x and y
    • Use of this Standard Practice as a reference in other standards where SDAR is only part of the analysis

    Registration Information

Registration information will be posted at a later date.
