In light of COVID-19 (coronavirus) and our priority for the health and welfare of our members and staff, ASTM International has decided that it is inadvisable and impractical to hold the committee meetings in Prague on April 27-May 1. The decision was based on several factors, including, but not limited to:
Staff managers will be contacting committee leaders to plan alternatives for conducting committee business. For any committees that collected money for events, ASTM will work to issue refunds as necessary. Attendees are responsible for cancelling their own hotel reservations.

A Workshop on Annealing of Electrical Conductors will be held Wednesday, April 13, 2016. Sponsored by ASTM Committee B05 on Copper and Copper Alloys, the workshop will be held at the Grand Hyatt San Antonio in San Antonio, TX, in conjunction with the April standards development meetings of the committee.
This ASTM workshop addresses three important concepts, namely, general principles of annealing, softening of copper and aluminum, and some annealing problems. Specific topics include structure/property changes, engineering rules and guidelines, stages of annealing, role of work hardening, effects of composition, interaction of impurities, control of such process variables as amount of reduction and intermediate anneals, measurement of the annealing process, softening kinetics, batch versus strand annealing, and annealability testing. Problems include those related to composition and equipment issues, oxidation and staining, hydrogen embrittlement, sticky wire, and cavitation fracture.

PARKING: The hotel provides valet parking at a cost of $39 daily while self parking has a cost of $29 daily.
Attendees have the option to determine their dress at ASTM meetings. Business casual attire is acceptable at this meeting and appropriate for San Antonio. The average temperatures in April range from a high of 81 degrees to a low of 58 degrees.
