Stakeholders Sought to Develop Latex Coatings Test Method

ASTM Committee D01 on Paint and Related Coatings, Materials, and Applications welcomes participation as it develops a Test Method for Accelerated Efflorescence Resistance of Latex Coatings. A task group of Subcommittee D01.42 on Architectural Coatings is developing the test method to determine the degree that latex paint resists the formation of efflorescence on the exposed paint surface.

“The purpose of this test method is to assist in determining the ability of a coating to be used on a masonry type surface,” says ASTM task-group member Dan Marschall.

Committee D01 meets June 8-13 in Cleveland, Ohio. For meeting or membership details, contact Tim Brooke, director, Technical Committee Operations, ASTM International (phone: 610/832-9729). //
