    You must be registered to attend ASTM Meetings. Use our online registration form where you have the ability to register for multiple events, pay fees in advance using a credit card, and receive an electronic confirmation. You may register online at the "Register" link above.

    When you preregister online, you will receive emails on committee meetings, final announcements, and other information that will help you prepare for your meeting. The registration information significantly assists us in preparations for the committee week.

    The cut-off for preregistration is Wednesday, April 6, 2016. After this date please register on-site at the ASTM Registration Desk at the Grand Hyatt San Antonio.


    All meetings will be held at the Grand Hyatt san Antonio, 600 East Market Street, San Antonio, Texas, 78205. Reservations may be made via our online reservation system at Grand Hyatt Reservations.

    Select your dates and proceed as instructed. Reservations may also be made by telephoning the hotel at (210) 224-1234 (you must mention ASTM in order to receive the group rate). If you need assistance with your hotel reservation, please call the hotel directly.

    Group rate will be honored until the ASTM block is full but no later than March 11, 2016. The ASTM Room Block is CURRENTLY SOLD OUT on the nights of April 13th, 14th and 15th at the Grand Hyatt San Antonio. You are able to reserve a room at the ASTM Group rate at this hotel if departing on on April 13th or earlier. ASTM rates are $155 plus tax. You may be charged a higher rate if reservations are received after the cut-off date, or when the block is full.

    OVERFLOW HOTEL INFORMATION: Hyatt Regency San Antonio, 123 Losoya St, San Antonio TX 78205. The hotel is 2 blocks from the Grand Hyatt San Antonio and is a 8 minute walk. The Hyatt Regency group rate is $155.00 single. Reservations can be made by calling 1.888.421.1442 and mentioning the ASTM International group. The discounted group rate will be honored until the ASTM overflow block is full, but no later than March 11, 2016. Reservations may be made via our online reservation system at Hyatt Regency.

    The Grand Hyatt San Antonio is SOLD OUT AT THE GOVERNMENT PER DIEM RATE! If you have already booked a room at the government rate you must present your ID at the front desk upon check-in.

    IMPORTANT! ASTM Rates are non-commissionable. If you book your reservation through a travel agent, they must ask for a non-commissioned ASTM Group Rate. ASTM cannot adjust your higher rate if commissions were paid to a travel agency.

    ADVANCE DEPOSIT: The Grand Hyatt San Antonio Hotel requires a credit card to guarantee your reservation.

    CONFIRMATION NOTICES: A confirmation number is provided to you electronically once your reservation has been submitted.

    CANCELLATION/CHANGE POLICY: At the Grand Hyatt San Antonio Hotel, notice of cancellation must be received 48 hours prior to day of arrival in order to avoid a charge.

    INTERNET: The hotel offers complimentary wireless connections in the guest rooms and public spaces.

    ASTM MEMBERS WORK AREA: ASTM will provide computers with internet connections. This area will also be wireless for your laptop computer. You may visit the ASTM website, apply or renew your membership, order publications or check your email. The complimentary wireless service is limited to the members' work area and the meeting rooms.

    AIRPORT SHUTTLE SERVICE: Shuttle transportation to and from the San Antonio International Airport is available for a fee by SATRANS, the city's official airport shuttle, between 7:00 AM and 1:00 AM, daily.Reservations are required.     PARKING: The hotel provides valet parking at a cost of $39 daily while self parking has a cost of $29 daily.


    ASTM staff will provide several training sessions on various subjects to educate and assist officers, members and non-members of ASTM committees. The following topics will be discussed:

  • Workshop: Introduction to the Interlaboratory Study Program (ILS)
    Monday, 12:00pm - 1:00pm
    Wednesday, 12:00pm - 1:00pm

    This module is designed to familiarize members with the ILS Program, its features, benefits, capabilities, and the online registration process. Research Reports will also be specifically addressed during the session. This workshop will benefit anyone planning to run (or participate in) an interlaboratory study to generate a precision statement for a new or existing ASTM test method. Presented by Phillip Godorov and Caitlin Farrell, ASTM ILS Staff.

  • Interlaboratory Studies (ILS) Question and Answer Sessions

    Tuesday, 8:00am - 10:00am and 3:00pm - 5:00pm
    Wednesday, 8:00am - 10:00am and 3:00pm - 5:00pm

    In addition to the ILS Workshop schedule above, several ILS Q&A Sessions have been planned with ASTM ILS Staff. Please feel free to drop by and ask questions about, or brainstorm ideas for, your upcoming interlaboratory studies. ILS Representatives will also be available to review the status of your current interlaboratory studies and help you plan the next steps. Sessions are open to all, and no appointments are needed.

  • International Member Orientation Training Module (Monday) 7:00am-8:00am

    This module is intended to welcome and introduce International Members to ASTM International and the ASTM process. The module will consist of a brief introduction of the history of ASTM, ASTM activities in the International Standards Community and to discuss frequently asked questions regarding ASTM meetings and the ASTM standards development process. The hope is to attract new members as well as existing members to share in an exchange of information about ASTM International. The module will be facilitated by ASTM Staff.

  • Writing, Handling and Resolving Negative Votes (Tuesday) 12:00pm-1:00pm

    This session will discuss how to write an effective negative, how the committees should address negative votes, and how to resolve negative votes using the Online Negative Resolution Tool in the MyASTM section of the ASTM website. Additionally, you will be exposed to the roles that the subcommittee chairs, technical contacts, and ASTM Staff play throughout this process.

  • Developing and Revising an ASTM Standard (Wednesday) 12:00pm-1:00pm

    During this joint Technical Committee Operations and Editorial module, we will review both new and revised standards as they go through the development and publication process. We will cover how standard ideas are introduced, drafted,and publicized as well as review ASTM's electronic tools and time-tested techniques for accelerating the development of your standard. Included in the workshop will be a brief review of work items registration, the three stages of balloting, and an explanation of the key roles of your editor and the standard’s technical contact.

    Several ASTM committees collect a voluntary fee to support activities associated within the committee such as awards, social events, etc. Each committee determines the amount and encourages your contribution. The activity fee can be paid online in advance on the preregistration page. This voluntary contribution is not an ASTM International society fee.


    Several committees hold planned banquet events. You have the ability to purchase your tickets online in advance on the preregistration page. Your tickets will be available on-site at the Registration Area.


    ASTM meetings offer on-site services from the ASTM staff. We provide photocopying service, audio/visual equipment, and a members' work area with complimentary internet computers. We also have an editor on-site to assist you with the form and style of standards, editorial changes and first drafts of standards.


    Join your elected officers and staff for a continental breakfast on Wednesday at 7:00am sharp at the Grand Hyatt San Antonio. At this breakfast, you will hear an update on ASTM and have an opportunity to ask questions or share your comments. You may pick up your ticket at the ASTM Registration Desk.


    Join us for coffee and breakfast pastries Monday through Thursday from 8:30am to 9:30am at the Grand Hyatt San Antonio Hotel. A representative from the San Antonio Convention and Visitors Bureau will be on hand with information on what to see and do in San Antonio.     Attendees have the option to determine their dress at ASTM meetings. Business casual attire is acceptable at this meeting and appropriate for San Antonio. The average temperatures in April range from a high of 81 degrees to a low of 58 degrees.
