    PREREGISTRATION

    You must be registered to attend ASTM Meetings. Use our online registration form where you have the ability to register for multiple events, pay fees in advance using a credit card and receive an electronic confirmation. You may register online at the "Register" link above.

    When you preregister online you will receive emails on committee meetings, final announcements and other information that will help you prepare for your meeting. The registration information significantly assists us in preparations for the committee week.

    The cut-off for preregistration is Wednesday, June 21, 2017. After this date, please register on-site at the ASTM Registration Desk at the Sheraton Boston.


    HOTEL INFORMATION

    All meetings will be held at the Sheraton Boston, 39 Dalton St, Boston, MA 02199. Reservations may be made by telephoning the hotel at +1.888.627.7054.     Group rate will be honored until the ASTM block is full, but no later than May 17, 2017. Reserved rooms may be SOLD OUT prior to the cut-off date. You may be charged a higher rate if reservations are received after the cut-off date. ASTM rates are $199 USD single/double, plus tax (you must mention ASTM in order to receive the group rate).

    ADVANCE DEPOSIT/ CANCELLATION POLICY: For all properties, a Guarantee Deposit equal to one night's room and tax will be charged to the card on file upon booking your reservation. This deposit will be refundable should you cancel your reservation through the end of the business say on Monday, May 5th, 2017. Deposits will be non-refundable for any cancellations made after May 5th, 2017.

    TRANSPORTATION AND DIRECTIONS

    AIRPORT SHUTTLE SERVICE: Shuttle transportation to and from Boston Logan International Airport is available for a fee by Back Bay Logan Express. No advance reservations. The Back Bay Logan Express is a blue shuttle with orange accents. Cost: $7.50 per person (credit or debit card, no cash) or $3 with MBTA pass.     BUS: Time: 30-45 minutes. Outside baggage claim at Logan Airport follow signs to "Logan Express." Take the "Back Bay" Logan Express Bus to the Hynes Convention Center. The Sheraton Boston Hotel is located adjacent to the convention center. Buses depart from Logan Airport every 20 minutes (first departure: 6AM; last departure; 10PM). The fare is $5 (credit or debit card, no cash).

    TAXI: from Logan Airport: Time: 30 minutes in normal traffic. Cost: ca. $40 including tip. At peak times there will be a waiting line controlled by a dispatcher.

    RIDESHARING PROGRAM: Transportation Network Providers (TNP), also referred to as a “rideshare” company, provide prearranged transportation through an app, connecting passengers with drivers of vehicles for hire. Lyft and Uber are TNP companies operating in Boston.

    PARKING: Sheraton Boston valet parking is available for $38 for 8 hours and $58 per night until 2pm on the day of checkout. This valet parking fee includes unlimited in and out privileges.
    Guests can also self-park at the Prudential Center Garage for $42 for each 24 hour period. Please note that payment for this parking is separate from the hotel and you will be expected to pay each time you exit the garage.

  • Workshop: Committee D02 Member Orientation

    This orientation will include an overview of ASTM and the organization and structure of D02. Learn about your role and responsibilities as a new D02 member. There will be an opportunity to ask questions. All members, especially new members and visitors, are encouraged to attend.
    The orientation will be presented by James Simnick, Committee D02 First Vice-Chairman.

  • ASTM Staff Support Question and Answer Sessions

    These Q&A sessions will provide members (new and experienced) with an opportunity to ask questions about ASTM systems and services. Members have access to electronic tools that facilitate your participation at any place, at any time. These tools prepare you for meetings, keep you informed, provide technical contact information, and ultimately enable your input to the consensus process. Staff will be on hand to "show you around" the website, provide information on registering work items, work item collaboration areas, submitting ballot items and online negative ballot resolutions, or simply help with administrative issues. Editorial Staff will also be available to provide assistance. Please feel free to drop in and ask questions!

  • Workshop: Introduction to the Interlaboratory Study Program (ILS)

    This module is designed to familiarize members with the ILS Program, its features, benefits, capabilities, and the online registration process. Research Reports will also be specifically addressed during the session. This workshop will benefit anyone planning to run (or participate in) an interlaboratory study to generate a precision statement for a new or existing ASTM test method.

  • Interlaboratory Studies (ILS) Question and Answer Sessions

  • D02 ASTM Workshop: Petroleum Lab Technician Training Package

    This workshop will provide an overview and demonstration of the ASTM Petroleum Lab Technician Training Package. The package content includes ASTM Standards, online training modules on ASTM Test Methods, UOP Standards, and AASHTO Test Methods. We will demonstrate the package and provide an open forum to discuss additional enhancements that ASTM is able to provide and obtain feedback on potential future areas of product development.

    The ASTM International Petroleum Lab Technician Training Package is designed to empower our clients with valuable technical content to ensure quality and develop professional proficiency. ASTM has worked with a development and design team of industry professionals to identify the most applicable content to include in the training package to ensure relevance and value. We have recently developed our cutting edge online portal: ASTM Compass to not only deliver content but also to provide enhanced functionality to ensure that your employees can understand, adopt, and apply changes made to ASTM Standards. ASTM is committed to continuing to add material to the Petroleum Lab Technician Training Package. We recognize how vital it is to keep our content up to date in a dynamic environment in which some 40% of all ASTM Standards update annually. We have the infrastructure in place to keep all materials (standards and training modules) in the package current as content continually evolves.

  • Training Module: Roster Maintenance

    This training module assists officers in classifying new members, granting official voting status, and maintaining balance on your committee and subcommittee rosters. This is a training session that covers the numerous functions of the web-based Roster Maintenance tool. This session will also cover accessing new membership applications, as well as creating Membership Reports for your upcoming meeting. Non-officers are encouraged to attend to understand how classifications are developed, revised, and are updated. This module will discuss why accurate classification and assignment of voting rights is important to all ASTM members. The module will be presented by Alyson Fick, ASTM Staff.

  • Workshop: International Participant and Member Orientation
    Wednesday, 7:00am - 8:00am
    Republic Ballroom

    Meeting attendees are cordially invited to a special welcome and orientation session centered on international participants. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet other international meetings participants, including ASTM Member of the Board James Simnick. This session will provide a very brief introduction to ASTM, its activities, process, electronic tools and international outreach that connect you to ASTM's global network of experts and information. There will also be ample time to ask any questions. This session provides new and experienced international members and visitors a chance to connect at the Committee Week.

    COMMITTEE ACTIVITY FEES

    Several ASTM committees collect a voluntary fee to support activities associated within the committee such as awards, social events, etc. Each committee determines the amount, encourages your contribution, and can be paid on-line in advance on the preregistration page. This voluntary contribution is not an ASTM International society fee.


    COMPLIMENTARY SUPPORT SERVICES

    Committee Week Meetings offer on-site services from the ASTM staff. We provide photocopying service, audio/visual equipment, and a members' work area with complimentary internet computers. We also have an editor on-site to assist you with the form and style of standards, editorial changes and first drafts of standards.

    DRESS/WEATHER

    Attendees have the option to determine their dress at ASTM meetings. Business casual attire is acceptable at this meeting and appropriate for Boston. The average temperatures in June range from a high of 75 degrees Fahrenheit to a low of 59 degrees Fahrenheit.
