    You must be registered to attend ASTM Meetings. Use our online registration form where you have the ability to register for multiple events, pay fees in advance using a credit card, and receive an electronic confirmation. You may register online at the "Register" link above.

    When you preregister online, you will receive emails on committee meetings, final announcements, and other information that will help you prepare for your meeting. The registration information significantly assists us in preparations for the committee week.

    The cut-off for preregistration is Wednesday, November 30, 2016. After this date please register on-site at the ASTM Registration Desk at the Hilton Lake Buena Vista.



    All meetings will be held at the Hilton Lake Buena Vista, 1751 Hotel Plaza Blvd., Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830. Reservations may be made via our online reservation system: Hilton Lake Buena Vista Reservations.

    Select your dates and proceed as instructed. Reservations may also be made by telephoning the hotel at 1-800-782-4414 and referencing the code "AST." If you need assistance with your hotel reservation, please call the hotel directly. This hotel has a smoke-free policy; all public areas are non-smoking.

    Group rate will be honored until the ASTM block is full but no later than October 26, 2016. ASTM rates are $169 plus tax. You may be charged a higher rate if reservations are received after the cut-off date, or when the block is full.

    IMPORTANT! ASTM Rates are non-commissionable. If you book your reservation through a travel agent, they must ask for a non-commissioned ASTM Group Rate. ASTM cannot adjust your higher rate if commissions were paid to a travel agency.

    These Q&A sessions will provide members (new and experienced) with an opportunity to ask questions about ASTM systems and services. Members have access to electronic tools that facilitate your participation at any place, at any time. These tools prepare you for meetings, keep you informed, provide technical contact information, and ultimately enable your input to the consensus process. Staff will be on hand to "show you around" the website, provide information on registering work items, work item collaboration areas, submitting ballot items and online negative ballot resolutions, or simply help with administrative issues.   • Workshop: Committee D02 Member Orientation
    Monday, 7:00am - 8:00am

    This orientation will include an overview of ASTM and the organization and structure of D02. Learn about your role and responsibilities as a new D02 member. There will be an opportunity to ask questions. All members, especially new members and visitors, are encouraged to attend.

    The orientation will be presented by James Simnick, Committee D02 First Vice-Chairman.

  • International Participant Orientation
    Wednesday, 7:00am - 8:00am

    Meeting attendees are cordially invited to a special welcome and orientation session centered on international participants. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet other international meetings participants, including ASTM Member of the Board James Simnick. This session will provide a very brief introduction to ASTM, its activities, process, electronic tools and international outreach that connect you to ASTM's global network of experts and information. There will also be ample time to ask any questions. This session provides new and experienced international members and visitors a chance to connect at the Committee Week.

  • Workshop: Introduction to the Interlaboratory Study Program (ILS)
    Monday, 12:00pm - 1:00pm

    This module is designed to familiarize members with the ILS Program, its features, benefits, capabilities, and the online registration process. Research Reports will also be specifically addressed during the session. This workshop will benefit anyone planning to run (or participate in) an interlaboratory study to generate a precision statement for a new or existing ASTM test method.

  • D02 ASTM Workshop: Petroleum Lab Technician Training Package

    This workshop will provide an overview and demonstration of the ASTM Petroleum Lab Technician Training Package. The package content includes ASTM Standards, online training modules on ASTM Test Methods, UOP Standards, and AASHTO Test Methods. We will demonstrate the package and provide an open forum to discuss additional enhancements that ASTM is able to provide and obtain feedback on potential future areas of product development.

    The ASTM International Petroleum Lab Technician Training Package is designed to empower our clients with valuable technical content to ensure quality and develop professional proficiency. ASTM has worked with a development and design team of industry professionals to identify the most applicable content to include in the training package to ensure relevance and value. We have recently developed our cutting edge online portal: ASTM Compass to not only deliver content but also to provide enhanced functionality to ensure that your employees can understand, adopt, and apply changes made to ASTM Standards.ASTM is committed to continuing to add material to the Petroleum Lab Technician Training Package. We recognize how vital it is to keep our content up to date in a dynamic environment in which some 40% of all ASTM Standards update annually. We have the infrastructure in place to keep all materials (standards and training modules) in the package current as content continually evolves.

  • Statistical Seminar, Why 30?
    Tuesday, 5:00pm - 6:00pm

    This brief seminar will provide a very simple explanation on the use of statistics to estimate population parameters (such as mean and standard deviation), with specific focus on the standard deviation (sigma) statistic, where "degrees of freedom" will be explained, and why the minimum degree of freedom of 30 is specified for r and R statistics in ASTM D6300 (Standard Practice for Determination of Precision and Bias Data for Use in Test Methods for Petroleum Products and Lubricants).Seminar presented by Alex Lau, Subcommittee Chairman.


    Several ASTM committees collect a voluntary fee to support activities associated within the committee such as awards, social events, etc. Each committee determines the amount and encourages your contribution. The activity fee can be paid online in advance on the preregistration page. This voluntary contribution is not an ASTM International society fee.


    Several committees hold planned banquet events. You have the ability to purchase your tickets online in advance on the preregistration page. Your tickets will be available on-site at the Registration Area.


    ASTM meetings offer on-site services from the ASTM staff. We provide photocopying service, audio/visual equipment, and a members' work area with complimentary internet computers. We also have an editor on-site to assist you with the form and style of standards, editorial changes and first drafts of standards.

    ASTM MEMBERS' WORK AREA: ASTM will provide computers with internet connections. This area will also be wireless for your laptop computer. You may visit the ASTM website, apply or renew your membership, order publications or check your email. The complimentary wireless service is limited to the members' work area and the meeting rooms.

    INTERNET: The ASTM International group rate includes basic internet in your guest room, a $14.95 value. Enhanced high-speed internet is available for an additional charge.
