      You must be registered to attend ASTM Meetings. Use our online registration form where you have the ability to register for multiple events, pay fees in advance using a credit card, and receive an electronic confirmation. You may register online at the "Register" link above.

      When you preregister online, you will receive emails on committee meetings, final announcements, and other information that will help you prepare for your meeting. The registration information significantly assists us in preparations for the committee week.

      The cut-off for preregistration is Wednesday, November 8, 2017. After this date, please register on-site at the ASTM Registration Desk at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta.


      All meetings will be held at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta, 265 Peachtree street NE, Atlanta, Georgia, USA, 30303. Reservations may be made via our online reservation system at Hyatt Regency Atlanta Reservations.

      Select your dates and proceed as instructed. Reservations may also be made by telephoning the hotel at 404-577-1234 (you must mention ASTM in order to receive the group rate). If you need assistance with your hotel reservation, please call the hotel directly.

      Group rate will be honored until the ASTM block is full, but no later than September 30th, 2017. ASTM rates are $160 plus tax. You may be charged a higher rate if reservations are received after the cut-off date, or when the block is full.The hotel requires a credit card to guarantee your reservation, once submitted a confirmation number will be provided electronically.

      The Hyatt Regency Atlanta has a limited number of rooms at the government per diem rate. Reservations may be made via our online reservation system at Hyatt Regency Atlanta Government Reservations. You must present your ID at the front desk upon check-in.

      IMPORTANT! ASTM Rates are non-commissionable. If you book your reservation through a travel agent, they must ask for a non-commissioned ASTM Group Rate. ASTM cannot adjust your higher rate if commissions were paid to a travel agency.

      CANCELLATION/CHANGE POLICY: At the Hyatt Regency Atlanta, notice of cancellation must be received 3 days prior to day of arrival in order to avoid a charge.

      INTERNET: With the ASTM Group Rate standard internet access is provided in the guest's hotel room.

      ASTM MEMBERS WORK AREA: ASTM will provide computers with internet connections. This area will also be wireless for your laptop computer. You may visit the ASTM website, apply or renew your membership, order publications or check your email. The complimentary wireless service is limited to the members' work area and the meeting rooms.

    • Ground transportation to and from the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is available for a fee by a variety of Shuttle, Car and Bus Services. Please visit Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport Ground Transportation. Taxis cost approximately $30 one way.
    • PARKING: The hotel provides valet parking at a cost of $35 for 24hrs. There is no self-service parking available on the property.


      ASTM staff will provide several training sessions on various subjects to educate and assist officers, members and non-members of ASTM committees. The following topics will be discussed:

    • ASTM International Orientation (Monday) 12:00pm - 1:00pm

      Meeting attendees are invited to a welcome and orientation session. This session will provide a brief introduction to ASTM, its process, electronic tools, and international activities. This is an interactive session and questions are encouraged as we would like attendees to feel comfortable in participating at their standards meetings. Facilitated by ASTM staff, this session also provides new and experienced members and visitors a chance to connect at the beginning of the Committee Week.

    • ASTM Learning- Expert Online, Live & Mobile Learning Solutions (Monday & Wednesday) 12:00pm-1:00pm

      Do you have questions about the types of training services offered by ASTM International? If so, this session is for you. During this one hour presentation, we will overview the benefits of our training program and how our industry leading products help solve customer problems in the environmental market. We will also discuss the 2018 roadmap for new development, product enhancements and features. There will also be 15 minutes reserved for Q & A and requests.

    • Developing and Revising an ASTM Standard (Tuesday) 12:00pm - 1:00pm

      During this joint Technical Committee Operations and Editorial module, we will review both new and revised standards as they go through the development and publication process. We will cover how standard ideas are introduced, drafted, and publicized as well as review ASTM's electronic tools and time-tested techniques for accelerating the development of your standard. Included in the workshop will be a brief review of work items registration, the three stages of balloting, and an explanation of the key roles of your editor and the standard's technical contact.

    • Registering a Work Item and Launching a Collaboration Area (Wednesday) 12:00pm - 1:00pm

      This module will review the steps required to register a Work Item, Elaborating on what a Work Item is in ASTM. Next, the session will explore the ASTM Collaboration Area. ASTM Staff will address how to launch a Collaboration Area, upload documents to the site, invite new members to the Collaboration Area, as well as highlighting the other functionalities of the Collaboration Area.

    • Workshop: Introduction to the Interlaboratory Study Program (ILS)
      Monday, 12:00pm - 1:00pm
      Wednesday, 8:00am-9:00am

      This module is designed to familiarize members with the ILS Program, its features, benefits, capabilities, and the online registration process. Research Reports will also be specifically addressed during the session. This workshop will benefit anyone planning to run (or participate in) an interlaboratory study to generate a precision statement for a new or existing ASTM test method. Presented by Phillip Godorov and Caitlin Farrell, ASTM ILS Staff.

    • In addition to the ILS Workshop schedule above, several ILS Q&A Sessions have been planned with ASTM ILS Staff. Please feel free to drop by and ask questions about, or brainstorm ideas for, your upcoming interlaboratory studies. ILS Representatives will also be available to review the status of your current interlaboratory studies and help you plan the next steps. Sessions are open to all, and no appointments are needed.

      Several ASTM committees collect a voluntary fee to support activities associated within the committee such as awards, social events, etc. Each committee determines the amount and encourages your contribution. The activity fee can be paid online in advance on the preregistration page. This voluntary contribution is not an ASTM International society fee.


      Several committees hold planned banquet events. You have the ability to purchase your tickets online in advance on the preregistration page. Your tickets will be available on-site at the Registration Area.


      ASTM meetings offer on-site services from the ASTM staff. We provide photocopying service, audio/visual equipment, and a members' work area with complimentary internet computers. We also have an editor on-site to assist you with the form and style of standards, editorial changes and first drafts of standards.


      Join us for coffee and breakfast pastries Monday through Thursday from 8:30am to 9:30am at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta. A representative from the Atlanta area will be on hand with information on what to see and do in Atlanta.       Attendees have the option to determine their dress at ASTM meetings. Business casual attire is acceptable at this meeting and appropriate for Atlanta. The average temperatures in November range from a high of 65 degrees Fahrenheit to a low of 45 degrees Fahrenheit.
