    Pre-register for Committee(s) Meeting(s) - There is no fee to attend an ASTM Meeting but one must register (note: meeting registration only, contact hotel for accommodations).

    SCHEDULE

    To view your committee schedule, use the convenient link on this meeting page. Approximately two weeks prior to the meeting, meeting room names will be added to the schedule.


    PREREGISTRATION

    You must be registered to attend ASTM Meetings. Use our online registration form where you have the ability to register for multiple events, pay fees in advance using a credit card, and receive an electronic confirmation. You may register online at the "Register" link above.

    When you preregister online, you will receive emails on committee meetings, final announcements, and other information that will help you prepare for your meeting. The registration information significantly assists us in preparations for the committee week.

    The cut-off for preregistration is Wednesday, June 20, 2018. After this date, please register on-site at the ASTM Registration Desk at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina.


    HOTEL INFORMATION

    All meetings will be held at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina, 1380 Harbor Island, San Diego, CA 92101.

    There are two towers in this hotel, please take note when booking your hotel room which tower your committee will be meeting in.The following committee meetings will be held in the Bay Tower: D13, D35, E07, E36, E54, F13, & F23. All other committee meetings and registration will be held in the Marina Tower. Committee Week Services will be provided in both towers.

    Hotel Reservations: Staying at our contracted hotel is important to ASTM, to the destination where we are holding this meeting, and ultimately to you as an ASTM member. When you book a hotel outside of the block, and a contracted room goes unsold, we must pay penalty fes to the hotel. Please support ASTM by reserving your sleeping room at our official hotel.Reservations may be made via our online reservation system at Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina Reservations.

    Select your dates and proceed as instructed. Reservations may also be made by telephoning the hotel at 1-877-734-2726 (you must mention ASTM in order to receive the group rate). If you need assistance with your hotel reservation, please call the hotel directly.

    The discounted rate will be honored until the ASTM block is full, but no later than May 18, 2018. ASTM rates are $199 plus tax. You may be charged a higher rate if reservations are received after the cut-off date, or when the block is full. The hotel requires a credit card to guarantee your reservation, once submitted a confirmation number will be provided electronically.

    The Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina is SOLD OUT of rooms at the government per diem rate .

    IMPORTANT! ASTM Rates are non-commissionable. If you book your reservation through a travel agent, they must ask for a non-commissioned ASTM Group Rate. ASTM cannot adjust your higher rate if commissions were paid to a travel agency.

    CANCELLATION/CHANGE POLICY: At the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina Hotel, notice of cancellation must be received 3 days prior to day of arrival in order to avoid a charge.Failure to do so will incure a penalty equal to the cost of one night's room and tax.

    ASTM MEMBERS WORK AREA: ASTM will provide computers with internet connections. This area will also be wireless for your laptop computer. You may visit the ASTM website, apply or renew your membership, order publications or check your email. The complimentary wireless service is limited to the members' work area and the meeting rooms.


    TRANSPORTATION AND DIRECTIONS

    AIRPORT SHUTTLE SERVICE: The Sheraton provides complimentary San Diego Airport Shuttle transportation to/from the San Diego International Airport. The courtesy airport shuttle arrives every 20-25 minutes from 4:45am - 1am, seven days a week. For more information vist Sheraton Airport Shuttle .

    RIDESHARING PROGRAM: Transportation Network Providers (TNP), also referred to as a “rideshare” company, provide prearranged transportation through an app, connecting passengers with drivers of vehicles for hire. Lyft and Uber are TNP companies operating in San Diego.

    ASTM TRAINING SESSIONS

    ASTM staff will provide several training sessions on various subjects to educate and assist officers, members and non-members of ASTM committees. The following topics will be discussed:

  • ASTM International Orientation (Monday) 12:00pm - 1:00pm

    Meeting attendees are invited to a welcome and orientation session. This session will provide a brief introduction to ASTM, its process, electronic tools, and international activities. This is an interactive session and questions are encouraged as we would like attendees to feel comfortable in participating at their standards meetings. Facilitated by ASTM staff, this session also provides new and experienced members and visitors a chance to connect at the beginning of the Committee Week.

  • ASTM Learning- Expert Online, Live & Mobile Learning Solutions (Monday & Wednesday) 12:00pm-1:00pm

    Do you have questions about the types of training services offered by ASTM International? If so, this session is for you. During this one hour presentation, we will overview the benefits of our training program and how our industry leading products help solve customer problems in the building and construction market. We will also discuss the 2018 roadmap for new development, product enhancements and features. There will also be 15 minutes reserved for Q & A and requests.

  • Balloting and Handling of Negative Votes (Wednesday) 4:00pm - 5:30pm

    This session will inform members on how to effectively move documents through the ASTM balloting process, from initiating a subcommittee ballot through main committee and Society review. A review of the role of COS (Committee on Standards) is included. In addition, learn to get positive results from negative votes! Special focus on the procedural handling of negative votes throughout the balloting process.

  • Developing and Revising a Standard (Wednesday) 12:00pm - 1:00pm

    During this joint Technical Committee Operations and Editorial module, we will review both new and revised standards as they go through the development and publication process. We will cover how standard ideas are introduced, drafted, and publicized as well as review ASTM's electronic tools and time-tested techniques for accelerating the development of your standard. Included in the workshop will be a brief review of work items registration, the three stages of balloting, and an explanation of the key roles of your editor and the standard's technical contact.

  • Refreshments will be available at all training sessions.

    COMMITTEE ACTIVITY FEES

    Several ASTM committees collect a voluntary fee to support activities associated within the committee such as awards, social events, etc. Each committee determines the amount and encourages your contribution. The activity fee can be paid online in advance on the preregistration page. This voluntary contribution is not an ASTM International society fee.


    SPECIAL ACTIVITY

    Several committees hold planned banquet events. You have the ability to purchase your tickets online in advance on the preregistration page. Your tickets will be available on-site at the Registration Area.



    COMPLIMENTARY SUPPORT SERVICES

    ASTM meetings offer on-site services from the ASTM staff. We provide photocopying service, audio/visual equipment, and a members' work area with complimentary internet computers.


    MEMBERS BREAKFAST

    ASTM ANNUAL BUSINESS MEETING - Join your elected officers and staff for a continetal lunch on Tuesday at 12noon sharp at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina. At this lunch, you will hear an update on ASTM and have an opportunity to ask questions or share your comments. You may pick up your ticket at the ASTM Registration Desk.


    SPOUSES' HOSPITALITY

    Join us for coffee and breakfast pastries Monday through Thursday from 8:30am to 9:30am at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina. A representative from the San Diego area will be on hand with information on what to see and do in San Diego.     DRESS/WEATHER

    Attendees have the option to determine their dress at ASTM meetings. Business casual attire is acceptable at this meeting and appropriate for San Diego. The average temperatures in June range from a high of 72 degrees Fahrenheit to a low of 62 degrees Fahrenheit.


    MISCELLANEOUS

    Please advise the hotel and ASTM of any disability which will require special attention. The Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina is in compliance with ADA standards.
