    PREREGISTRATION

    You must be registered to attend ASTM Meetings. Use our online registration form where you have the ability to register for multiple events, pay fees in advance using a credit card, and receive an electronic confirmation. You may register online at the "Register" link above.

    When you preregister online, you will receive emails on committee meetings, final announcements, and other information that will help you prepare for your meeting. The registration information significantly assists us in preparations for the committee week.

    The cut-off for preregistration is Wednesday, May 29th, 2019. After this date, please register on-site at the ASTM Registration Desk at the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel.


    HOTEL INFORMATION

    All meetings will be held at the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel, 1550 Court Place, Denver, CO 80202.

    Hotel Reservations: Staying at our contracted Hotel is important to ASTM International and ultimately to you as an ASTM member. When you stay outside of the official ASTM International guest room block, ASTM is charged a penalty fee when our contractual guest room commitment is not realized. Please support ASTM by reserving your sleeping room at our official hotel. Reservations may be made via an online reservation system at Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel .

    ASTM International blocks the appropriate amount of sleeping rooms at the conference hotel during the dates of the ASTM International meeting, Sunday through Thursday.

    Select your dates and proceed as instructed. Reservations may also be made by telephoning the hotel at 1-888-627-8405 (you must mention ASTM in order to receive the group rate). If you need assistance with your hotel reservation, please call the hotel directly.

    The discounted rate will be honored until the ASTM block is full, but no later than May 3rd, 2019. ASTM rates are $199 plus tax. You may be charged a higher rate if reservations are received after the cut-off date, or when the block is full. The hotel requires a credit card to guarantee your reservation, once submitted a confirmation number will be provided electronically.

    The Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel has a limited number of rooms at the government per diem rate of $181. Reservations may be made via our online reservation system at Sheraton Government Reservations. You must present your ID at the front desk upon check-in.

    IMPORTANT! ASTM Rates are non-commissionable. If you book your reservation through a travel agent, they must ask for a non-commissioned ASTM Group Rate. ASTM cannot adjust your higher rate if commissions were paid to a travel agency.

    ADVANCE DEPOSIT/ CANCELLATION POLICY: At the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel, notice of cancellation must be received before end of business day (5pm), 72 hours prior to the day of arrival in order to avoid a charge. Failure to do so will incur a penalty equal to the cost of one night's room and tax.

    INTERNET: High Speed Internet is available in guest rooms for a daily surcharge. Marriott Bonvoy Members will receive free basic wi-fi in guest rooms when a rewards number is supplied at booking or check-in.

    ASTM MEMBERS WORK AREA: ASTM will provide computers with internet connections. This area will also be wireless for your laptop computer. You may visit the ASTM website, apply or renew your membership, order publications or check your email. The complimentary wireless service is limited to the members' work area and the meeting rooms.


    TRANSPORTATION AND DIRECTIONS

    The hotel is located approximately 24.0 miles/30-35 minutes from the Denver International Airport. The hotel's phone number is (303)-893-3333 and the general fax number is (303)-626-2543. The website for the hotel is Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel.

    AIRPORT LINE RAIL: At a cost of $10.50, the A Line travels to and from the airport transit center to Denver Union Station. The Denver airport rail has six stops along the way, takes about 37 minutes and leaves every 15 minutes from 6 am-8 pm daily. The train departs every 30 minutes from 8 pm-1 am and 3 am-6 am.

    From Union Station, travelers can access the free16th Street Mall shuttle (MallRide) and free downtown MetroRide buses that provides access to the Sheraton Denver. When exiting Union Station, turn right, walk one block to 16th street, in front of Office Depot you'll find a red and blue city bus called the Free Mall Ride. To access the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel, take the MallRide to the Court Place station.

    To return to DIA, take the free MallRide to Wynkoop St. walk one block to Union Station. From there, you will travel on the A Line. The first train from Union Station is at 3:15am and runs continuously until 12:30am.

    AIRPORT SHUTTLE SERVICE: Shuttle transportation to and from Denver International Airport is available for a fee by multiple Share-Ride Services. Individual operators may provide pre-arranged, on-demand and/or charter services to locations within the Denver Metro Area. Contact the Shuttle provider of your choice to arrange transportation service by visiting Denver Commuter Shuttle Information. Shared-ride service shuttles pick-up and drop-off from Jeppesen Terminal Level 5, island 5, outside doors 505-507 (east side) and 510-512 (west side).

    HOTEL SPONSORED SHUTTLE: Super Shuttle is a ride service that will take a hotel guest anywhere from 40 minutes to an hour between the hotel and the airport. Cost is $31 for one person, plus $8 for an additional passenger. Rides can be scheduled online at Super Shuttle Information or at the hotel Concierge desk

    TAXI: TAXI: From Denver International Airport cost of a taxi is estimated to be $55.57.

    RIDESHARING PROGRAM: Transportation Network Providers (TNP), also referred to as a “rideshare” company, provide prearranged transportation through an app, connecting passengers with drivers of vehicles for hire. Lyft and Uber are TNP companies operating in Denver.

    PARKING: Valet parking is avaiable for a rate of $49 daily. Self-parking is also available for a rate of $41 daily.


    ASTM TRAINING SESSIONS

    ASTM staff will provide several training sessions on various subjects to educate and assist officers, members and non-members of ASTM committees. The following topics will be discussed:

  • ASTM International Welcome and Orientation Module (Monday) 12:00pm-1:00pm

    Meeting attendees are invited to a welcome and orientation session. This session will provide a brief introduction to ASTM, its process electronic tools, and international activities. This is an interactive session and questions are encouraged as we like attendees to feel comfortable in participating at their standards meetings. Facilitated by ASTM staff, this session provides new and experienced members and visitors a chance to connect at the beginning of the Committee Week.

  • Emerging Professional Program Workshop (Tuesday)7:30am-5:00pm

    ASTM International officially launched the Emerging Professionals program in 2016. ASTM technical committees are welcome to nominate a candidate that fits the program criteria and who wants to become more active on their committee. The objective of the Emerging Professionals program is to create a new opportunity with long-term benefits for new members who have demonstrated the potential to be industry and committee leaders.   • The Standards Developing and Balloting Process (Wednesday) 12:00pm-1:00pm

    During this joint Technical Committee Operations and Editorial Module, we will focus on the process of standards development for new and existing standards. Topics covered include: Committee Balance, Subcommittee and Main Committee Balloting, review of the role of COS (Committee on Standards), handling of Negative votes, and the role of the editor and technical contact. This session will provide important and useful information and is intended for all members.

  • PTP and Training/eLearning Presentation (Wednesday) 12:00pm-1:00pm

    Learn how Training and Proficiency Testing Programs can help you improve proficiency with ASTM Standards and Test Methods. ASTM Training and eLearning offers award-winning continuing education courses and industry-leading online training programs. ASTM Proficiency Testing Programs (PTP) are statistical quality assurance programs that enable laboratories to evaluate and improve performance, and maintain and fulfill mandatory accreditation requirements. This session is essential for those who are new to industry or experienced individuals or companies looking to improve skill level and lab results.

  • Training and eLearning Table (Monday and Wednesday) 8:00am-12:00pm and 2:00-4:00pm

  • Workshop: Introduction to Interlaboratory Study Program (ILS)

    (Monday 12:00pm-1:00pm and Wednesday 8:00am-9:00am)

    This module is designed to familiarize members with the ILS Program, its features, benefits, capabilities, and the online registration process. Research Reports will also be specifically addressed during the session. This workshop will benefit anyone planning to run (or participate in) an interlaboratory study to generate a precision statement for a new or existing ASTM test method. Presented by ASTM ILS Staff.

  • Interlaboratory Studies (ILS) Question and Answer Sessions

    (Monday and Tuesday) 8:00am-10:00am and 3:00pm-5:00pm

    (Wednesday) 9:00am-10:00am and 3:00pm-5:00pm

    In addition to the ILS Workshop schedule above, several ILS Q&A Sessions have been planned with ASTM ILS Staff. Please feel free to drop by and ask questions about, or brainstorm ideas for, your upcoming interlaboratory studies. ILS representatives will also be available to review the status of your current interlaboratory studies and help you plan the next steps. Sessions are open to all, and no appointments are needed.

    COMMITTEE ACTIVITY FEES

    Several ASTM committees collect a voluntary fee to support activities associated within the committee such as awards, social events, etc. Each committee determines the amount and encourages your contribution. The activity fee can be paid online in advance on the preregistration page. This voluntary contribution is not an ASTM International society fee.


    SPECIAL ACTIVITY

    Several committees hold planned banquet events. You have the ability to purchase your tickets online in advance on the preregistration page. Your tickets will be available on-site at the Registration Area.



    MEMBERS BREAKFAST

    ASTM International invites you for lunch with the Chairman of the Board and ASTM President on Tuesday, June 4th, 2019 at 12 Noon at the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel. At this lunch, you will hear an update on ASTM and have an opportunity to ask questions or share your comments. You may pick up your ticket at the ASTM Registration Desk.


    SPOUSES' HOSPITALITY

    To register your spouse you must add them to the online registration form. There is no registration fee. They are welcome to attend the Spouses Hospitality Breakfast Monday-Thursday 8:30am-9:30am.


    DRESS/WEATHER

    Attendees have the option to determine their dress at ASTM meetings. Business casual attire is acceptable at this meeting and appropriate for Denver. The average temperatures in June range from a high of 84 degrees Fahrenheit to a low of 55 degrees Fahrenheit.


    MISCELLANEOUS

    Please advise the hotel and ASTM of any disability which will require special attention. The Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel is in compliance with ADA standards.
