Project Grants

Project Grant Deadline Draws Near

Does your design project include an ASTM International standards component? ASTM is offering a limited number of $500 grants to help you complete your project. Applications are due Oct. 31.

Applicants Wanted for Washington Internships for Students of Engineering Program

ASTM International sponsors one student annually for a 10-week paid internship in the Washington Internships for Students of Engineering program. The selected intern participates in a 10-week summer program in Washington, D.C., to learn how government decisions are made on technological issues and how engineers can contribute to legislative/public policy decisions. Applications are due Dec. 31.

Student Competition to Take Place During World Stardards Week

ASTM International is a sponsor of the American National Standards Institute’s exciting Standards Negotiation Competition taking place during World Standards Week, Oct. 15-19. Participating teams – each made up of four to five university students and a faculty mentor –represent stakeholders with diverse perspectives and goals in considering development of an international standard. Visit an ASTM International meeting near you to learn about how our standards are developed!

Fall Committee Weeks kick off in October at the Washington Hilton. Committees meeting there will develop standards for, among other things, metal powders and metal products, adhesives, performance of buildings, and occupational health and safety. November Committee Week will have meetings of committees such as those on steel, plastics, aerospace and aircraft. December Committee Week will find members in areas like cement, rubber, and fire standards gather. In total, over 150 committees that make up ASTM International meet over the course of a year. The best part? All student members can attend ASTM meetings and symposia for free.
