    Closed loop electrohydraulic servo-controlled test machines have gained rapid acceptance in the dynamic testing field. This paper describes the principles of a particular system designed for use in the Elastomer Test Laboratory. The paper will describe the basic principles of closed loop control, the techniques for calibration of instrumentation and scaling of signals, typical test operation and results, and a unique technique of readout for determining elastic spring rate and damping coefficient.
