    Abstract

    A brief discussion is presented of some important points to be considered in laying out simulated service fatigue tests of components. Typical airframe component tests that are illustrated and discussed include tests of primary wing surface structure, landing gear, and secondary and equipment structure subjected to very high cycle loadings. Some discussion is also presented on the reliability of data which may be obtained from tests of a single component.
