The Detection and Interpretation of Microseismims in Soil Masses

Source

This paper presents a description of an experiment to determine the feasibility of extending a stability investigation technique developed for sound rock for use in soil materials. Experimental results are presented along with detailed descriptions of the field test sites. The results presented show that microseismims are generated in soil materials. There is a strong indication that there is a relationship between microseismic rate and slope stability.
